ONE IS ILLEGAL (UK)
No One Is Illegal produced its Manifesto against immigration controls in 2003. The Manifesto looks at controls historically and politically to show why they are inherently racist and why there cannot be "fair" or "non racist" controls . It examines how welfare entitlement is now linked to immigration status - and how most state agencies, both local and national, are involved in control enforcement. It champions the rights of all those subject to immigration controls - migrants and immigrants as well as refugees. It argues that asylum-seekers are not the first or last of its victims - they are just the latest example. The Manifesto is against all controls and concludes with a programme of action. In spring 2004 there was organised the first conference of supporters of the manifesto. It is hoped there is a recall conference in early 2005 The Manifesto has attracted support from overseas. As a result it has been translated into German, French and Spanish. Contacts have been made with No One Is Illegal and No Border groups in Europe, North America, Russia and Australia. No One Is Illegal have now also established its own website. This has (1) copies of the Manifesto. (2) a selection of relevant articles against immigration controls (3) poetry and songs against controls (4) international links (5) publications to order (6) meetings and activities Access to the website is free and open. An invitation for its use is extended to all opposed to racism and immigration controls. No One Is Illegal, |
